Sunshine
So I finally saw the sun for the first time in days. Oxford was cloudy and rainy all week and then when I got home it was nasty too. But today is beautiful and sunny. It's 75ish and I'm sitting on my patio enjoying the weather.
Bree just stopped by on her way back to Oxford. It was a great surprise. And don't worry guys, she is bringing the TV and dvd player back, so she is allowed to not only live, but be in the apartment again.
I've decided I hate post-graduate testing. I'm studying for the GRE and the LSAT and I've decided that these tests are stupid because I refuse to believe they put me on equal footing with everyone else. Grad schools may say that GPA is more important than test scores, but I don't know about that. I also think it's ridiculous that someone may score higher than me on a stupid standardized test and get admitted when they don't have the skills and may drop the program.
I think our college records should stand for themselves, and I think interviews and presentations are a better way to do it. If I'm going to law school, I should have to prove my ability to argue and understand conceptual law, not my ability to solve a logic problem.
As far as the GRE is concerned, I haven't done geometry since I was 14. CPCTC is the only thing I remember because it was an acronym. Why should I have to know it for the GRE? If I haven't used it in 6-7 years, am I really gonna use it in grad school? Of course not.
My cousin just came in from France, and I'm gonna see her tonight. That should be fun. Ben comes home tomorrow afternoon, and my sister, Danielle, comes home tomorrow night. It's gonna be a giant family reunion. I'm excited. With the exception of Ben, I rarely see my family.
I also go to the doctor tomorrow morning at 9:30. I'll let you all know what's up when I find out. Hopefully I'll be back in Oxford by the end of the week.
What if...
What if everytime you said damnit to or about something, that thing was actually damned? Say you are golfing and you shank a shot and just scream dammit! You will never find that ball cause it will have burst into flames and disappeared. Or take a more lasting example. You are working on your car and your hand slips and you scrape your knuckles and that familiar phrase escapes your lips. Bam, no more car. Just a thought.
So Matt totally lied about McGuffey being open. There is one door on the whole building that is not quite closed all the way. I am almost positive we are not supposed to be here. He left already but the steps of alumni (my first choice after the library) were getting hot. So I am sitting in the back of a room used for orientation. Luckily I know that there are none for a few days.
Courtney got back from Florida yesterday. There are tons of attractive pictures of her on facebook if you want to see. I don't actually know if that is sarcasm or not b/c I have not taken the time to look at them yet myself. I think I will now.
Later Folks

Puppies....And now you're smiling
So apparently I have a test this Thursday...boo, though I guess that is not as bad as Eric's 20 papers and tests in the next few weeks.
I'm sitting in McGuffey hall (the library was closed). I'm not sure if I should be in here but all the doors were open and I'm a student so why not?
Everyone left this weekend it was sad, but from the sounds of mike's invalid posts not quiet as sad as that. Work was regular on Friday, I can not say I have yet to suffer through the pains of Eric's 3 hour work day quiet yet, working 6 or 7 hours a day is a lot less painful. Anyways Matt is in SC and Mike is home getting better and Bree took him there.
But before Matt left we went to see the hangover with Kristene it was stupid funny but it kept me laughing and that's all i ask.(much better than stepbrothers as I learned later that night) Then we got pizza (yummmm)and food dye (we almost got shot as we walked by a drug deal in the Kroger parking lot but we lived). The food dye was really hard to find but it's cool we dyed water in chemistry stuff that Matt has (it seems dumb but it was freaking amazing so shove it).
Then I slept.
Saturday I went to volunteer at the Animal Adoption Foundation with Madeline the dogs were awesome (the cats were boring) anyways guess what arrived while we were there. TWO PUPPIES!!!! and so we got to play with them for a good hour or so, we considered stealing them (and by that we mean giving them a good home) because they were small enough to sneak out. Anyways I felt very happy after being there (aka I need a dog - thanks for that one mom and dad-not). Then I think i took a nap or something. I'm getting really good at beating the computer in chess (I've moved up to level medium) eric is sad he doesn't have awesome games like that. (though he does have "windows dancer" and you should see if you have it too - it's wierd but awesome). Ummm we went out for a bit so our lives wouldn't be too pathetic (everyone needs to get back-well maybe not bree).
I don't know how I feel about rule 7, though I agree with rule number 1 150%. You know those steryotypical landlords, with the raspy voice and could care less about the life of her tenants as long as they write the check = Amy. And by the way, there are multiple window fans facing the pool and we're the only people asked to take our down. WTF.
There are some birthdays coming up that should be fun and if bree doesn't bring entertainment back she's shut off. I might blog later we will see (I need to get paid)
Peace Out!

Big on the Pig
Hello from Hilton Head Island in South Carolina!
This place is great, we're right on the ocean in a condo where we can watch the sun rise every morning. The trip down was long and adventuresome (much like myself) but we got here around 7:30. We were hungry so we went to a Piggly Wiggly and nearly bought the entire store. There's wi-fi everywhere, and it's all free...going back to Oxford could be difficult!
I'm supposedly going running tomorrow on the beach. There's no way in hell I'm gonna do that if it's really sunny and hot, so I have to wake up early, and I'm headed to bed. There'll be more to come from here, especially since I watched two crabs fight today and one almost ripped the other out if it's shell. It was cool, and my parents walked away from me as I squatted down to watch. Can't say I blame them.
For those of you keeping track, the cumulative total is eight dollars and five cents.
G'night!!

Working to Get Better
So it was weird waking up in my own bed today. I still have no box spring, so I just sleep on a mattress on the ground, but that's okay. I spent most of the day resting and watching tv and reading. I don't do sitting well. Being sick is not helping.
But Josh Wolff got me out of the house. Josh and I have been best friends since 6th grade, friends since we were 7. We typically go on long drives and talk and such, which is exactly what we did. Josh made me get out of the house which I owe him for because it was really nice to drive around and see my old neighborhood. I don't do it very often. I rarely come home. So I got perked up to see the entire area. I saw some people on the sidewalks that I hadn't seen since high school. Josh and I realized that there is no one left at our high school that we went to school with. But we did get excited to learn that our school had won the state baseball championship. I guess we still have some high school pride.
I also spent time reading college football previews. I can't wait for it to start up. I know from my Mizzou days that nothing brings a campus together like college football...except for Miami. That's what hockey is for. I love hockey. It's funny that they come out with these previews so far in advance. Especially with all the players that could get hurt or suspended before the season starts in September...It's still June.
Tomorrow will be another interesting day. I'm hoping to at least sit outside for awhile. I finally see the doctor on Monday. They are gonna poke at me for a long time. Maybe they'll figure it out.
The Rules
Hokay,
So we have Rule 8 and Rule #9. I propose we get some others to fill in like 1-7.
All rules put forth below will be up for debate. I am just bored and think we need more rules.
Matt Smola has expressed a displeasure at my calling it rule #9 instead of rule 9, so henceforth I will call it "The Rule Commonly Denoted by the Arabic Numeral Nine." He should like that better.
So rule 7, how bout this rule is that you turn the fan off in the bathroom after you take a shower etc. I woke up a few days ago, was the only person in the apartment, and the fan was on. Electricity does in fact cost money boys. This is not the mystical world you think you live in.
Rule 1 has to be a big one, so this will for sure be up for debate, but for now I think we should have Rule 1: Suck it Amy!
I can't think of any others, post comments of suggestions.
Byeee!

I know you missed me
Its been a while.
It seems like I have a lot to say so we will see how much I remember.
I will start off by responding to Mike's question about traffic. I heard somewhere that one car going ten mph slower than traffic can cause the traffic flow to slow down something like 2omph. So blame the truckers. Bastards delivering their wares. Get your own damn road.
Anyways...I am not that sad about the no internet. It was kind of annoying having to see Bree whenever I wanted to go online. I prefer the library or class. Class most of all, alleviates the boredom. I hear a siren! I basically own the library during the summer, there are 6 people I can see from here and that includes the entire bank of computers and the Howe writing center. If only I had a time machine to come back to this point when I need to study for finals...yeah, time travel...
Matt drove past a gun store and thought of me today.
OH! It was(is) sunny today! I got to lay in the sun for the first time in like a week. It was glorious. Especially after working from 7 to 10am. I am getting pretty tan, but I am getting to the point that my hair is bleaching out so it kind of balances out so you can't really tell.
I am going to do some other things on the interweb, but I may be back in a bit to delve into the rules. I feel like there should be more than just 8 and 9. It should be a good time.
