The Bonfire

Most of you were there, but the rest of you should know what you missed out on.

I checked the weather starting the evening and it said that there was a 100% chance of rain during the 11pm hour. This was concerning. It turned out that this was false. What we did get was lightning all around, but nothing directly overhead. It was quite lovely.

Adam tended the fire with a loving care that was truly touching. It was like they had a relationship. I on the other hand, just found medium sized pieces of furniture that I no longer wanted and threw them in, destroying the "engineering" Adam was doing. It turns out the dresser I had been using the past two years is made of something very similar to paper and burned in about 30 seconds.

The most robust part of the dresser was the back of a drawer. It easily withstood the onslaught of a blackbelt. No one was surprised.

In short, everyone had a superb time. There was good food, good drink and a great group of people. I would do it again in a heartbeat, if only there was something left to set fire to.

Thus concluded one of the best days ever. Thanks to everyone who made it so.
